ABOUT THE AUTHORS

SEAS is the recorded result of Brian Grainger & David Tagg's work to rebuild and recontextualize the new from the old.
It is a process of composition by way of reduction and procedural augmentation, using several organic and inorganic
methods of layering, texturing and processing a basic source into an entirely new atmosphere.
Very unlike their work with string instruments in VCV, SEAS is not improvised, but methodically mapped out
in an open space that enables Brian and David to be just as free with their approach.
Through the use of computers, vintage effects boxes and several other modern devices, SEAS is an attempt
to bring a renewed interest in the basics of electronic music and musique concrete, while still remaining
wholly organic in sound and vision. SEAS is a unison of art, nature and modern sound, intended for
intimate listening experiences as well as high-fidelity displays.
